Green disposable utensils and to-go containers.

We have changed out most of our disposable utensils, food containers and drink cups made from petroleum based plastics and styrofoam to newly available recycled products or products made with "bioplastics" (made from starches such as corn, wheat, potato and tapioca) and bagasse (which is mostly a byproduct of the sugar refining process). When we hot compost the compostable containers at the County Compost Facility these products break down into environmentally safe carbon dioxide, water and a residual biomass. They can then be purchased by you at the County Compost Facility and fed to your garden!
